When you wake up in the morning and your eyes take in the first hints of light that shine through your window, the dust motes catching and reflecting the sun’s rays like little diamonds, the shimmering hues of yellow and orangey gold breaking through into your room, the first thing you think about usually isn’t how you’re going to make it through the worst day of your life.
Unfortunately for Grace Shelley, that’s exactly what she’s facing as she ponders what to do now that she’s going to be starting out her last year in high school without her best friend. She’s not exactly the most popular girl in school – well, not the most popular girl in school to like, anyway – and everything seems to be hinting at another status quo year for her until she bumps into a stranger who leaves her stumbling for words and chasing after her heart.
The new guy in school is different. Robert doesn’t care about the rumors he’s heard about her or that no one else seems to see her the same way that he does; he only wants to be her friend. That’s when things get complicated. When Grace learns that he’s not your typical high school boy and that he’s actually a wingless angel who’s looking for someone to trust, she’s thrust into his world where not all angels are meant to protect human beings, and where the changes she brings into his life changes everything in hers.

I loved this book. The main character is not the “cookie cutter” type character as in other teen fantasy novels. I can actually see this character being someone in most people’s school. Someone who is beautiful but still doesn’t quite fit into the normal groups of high school. The Pain and humiliation she goes through in the beginning, I think most people can find something in their lives simular that they wish they could just erase. The author portrays Grace’s character in a realistic way.
This series has quickly become my favorite YA series. This author keeps you coming back for more. “Falling from Grace” is book one, in what is at the moment a set of three. Grace is not your average girl in the town in which she lives. She is Korean and has always been an outcast and labeled as a freak after a devastating accident that leaves her mother dead. Her senior year begins poorly. Her best friend abandons her after a confession of her feelings. This leaves her in a situation of more ridicule at school. Then for some reason a new student comes and is drawn to her. As their paths continue to become more entwined together, his intentions towards her are not entirely clear. Does he care for her or are there darker forces at work. This is only the beginning of Grace’s adventures. I would suggest purchasing this book along with the second “Bird Song”. The third adventure, “Black Halo” is due to be released soon. This book will not disappoint and worth every penny! I am so excited the book has become availble in paper back!YEAH! Buy two copies, one tho keep and one to give away!

I generally buy books that have several reviews so I have a good idea what I’m spending my money on. Amazon recommended this book based on previous purchases and reviews; however, this one had only 3 reviews at the time. I read the synopsis, and I was intrigued, so I decided to take a risk. I am very glad I did.
I read alot of the YA genre, although I am not young. I am in my 30’s. In a lot of ways, this book has some similarities to the twilight series – different girl, boy with a secret, nights in a bedroom, threats unknown or unseen, high school angst, the ability to read thoughts, etc. So, if you liked that series, you’ll probably love this book.
The title of the book (as well as some loose ends) suggests that there are more books in the series to come, so I sincerely hope that’s the case. I would definitely purchase additional books in this series.

I have to say, I loved the first few chapters of this book, the character building was awesome.
You could truly feel these people, however about mid-way through the book I felt it started dragging,
dribbling out un-needed information as if the story stopped flowing and now needed detailed explanation.
At one point I found myself skipping paragraphs, sometimes two at a time, simply to avoid the boredom
of these explanations. I found this very sad because I felt this had the making of a very good book.
In the end I finished it feeling disappointed. Yes, I’d like to know what happens to these people,
but now I have to decide, do I really want to read the next one to find out. If it’s written like the
first chapters of this one, it will be a good read, however if it’s written like the later chapters
of this one, then I’m not sure I care enough to bother reading it.

I absolutely love this book! I read a lot of YA Novels and I prefer to read books with a gripping storyline. This book held my interest like no other book has since Twilight. (I know people get sick of hearing that, but it was a really good book!!) The way the author describes the characters makes you feel everything they are feeling. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to loose a night of sleep just to finish it!

I really loved this book. It was hard to put down, and when I did I was wondering what would happen next while I should have been doing a million other things!!
Grace is not your typical girl, she is a social outcast in school. But is very kind. She lost her mom at a young age and is trying to cope with the new woman in her fathers life. The boy she loves who is also her best friend dumps her and she is alone. But that is when all the fun starts…….this is a great book. Romance, mystery and angels. Can it get better than this. You will be holding your breath at some points! From the everyday school drama, to the just kiss her already drama! Can’t wait for the next book in this series.
